Rieter Ring Spinning System

Ring Spinning System by Rieter Provides Fully Traceable Supply Chain Drive for Beste Italy

The innovative Italian textile company Beste SPA has placed an order for a complete ring spinning system from Rieter. The latest Rieter technology, combined with digital solutions and automation, will support Beste in launching the entire production process for textile machinery based in Italy, focusing on producing the highest quality for luxury brands. This investment is a key component of the ITACO project, which aims to establish a 100% organic and fully traceable cotton yarn supply chain in Italy.

Beste and Rieter have signed a contract to exclusively equip the newly established spinning mill, Filam S.r.l., in Bergamo, Italy, with the latest Rieter technology, including a full ring spinning system. This marks a crucial step in the ITACO project, which encompasses all stages of cotton production – from organic cotton cultivation in southern Italy to spinning in Bergamo and garment production in the Prato region. Everything takes place within a few hundred kilometers, ensuring unparalleled control over quality and sustainability, and making Beste’s supply chain fully transparent.

From fiber preparation to autoconer, the new spinning mill will be exclusively equipped with Rieter’s latest technology. Using the fully electronic G 38 ring spinning machine, outfitted with the COMPACTapron compacting device, Beste produces combed compact yarns that meet the highest standards required for the ITACO project.

Digital Factory Management System

The digital factory management system connects all data processing centers across the new Beste spinning mill, providing the company with comprehensive insights into all performance indicators, from bale to packaging. The fully automated ROBOspin robot ensures consistent performance of the ring spinning machines and minimizes the need for personnel deployment. The fully automated flyer bobbin-to-spool transport system, SERVOtrail Direct, further reduces the need for labor, as manual handling of bobbins is eliminated.

“We work with partners who share our philosophy and standards. Rieter machinery meets our demand for the highest quality and enables the production of yarns for use in garments that align with the design and quality benchmarks of ITACO, making this unique, fully traceable Italian cotton project possible,” said Giovanni Santi, CEO of Beste.

“We are proud that Beste has chosen our technology to accelerate its growth journey. Our ring spinning system perfectly fits into this entirely Italian production chain and plays a role in the ITACO project’s vision of high-quality, sustainable apparel.”
